Sarah Lusche, M.Div, LCSW (she/her)

Sarah Lusche, M.Div, LSW, believes that therapy is a valuable tool for being human. Therapy is a way to learn about oneself, build acceptance and compassion, address pain and suffering, work towards goals, and generate wellness. Sarah understands that people come to therapy for a variety of reasons, and that therefore there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. She focuses on building a therapeutic relationship with each person, coming to understand their particular concerns, relationships, and environment.  Sarah works collaboratively with adolescents, teens, adults and couples, developing a space in which each person can explore, heal, and grow.

Sarah received a dual master’s degree in Social Work and Divinity from the University of Chicago. She is uniquely trained in both clinical therapeutic modalities and spiritual caregiving, and is able to attend to her client’s psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Sarah’s clinical concentration is in psychodynamic and relational models of therapy, and she has additional training in Family Systems theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trauma theory.

Sarah completed her master’s training at UChicago Medicine, working to address complex socio-emotional suffering, depression, anxiety, and chronic pain and illness, and the Equal Justice Initiative in Alabama, where she worked with returning citizens and clients with PTSD. She also has history working with LGBTQIA+ populations and those who have experienced spiritual/religious trauma. Sarah has worked in a range of settings, including hospitals, community organizations, non-profits, and religious settings.
