Lilia Luna, MA, is a psychotherapist with ten years of experience. Her approach integrates client-centered therapy interventions, mindfulness, and body-oriented therapy techniques. She likes to hold a respectful, compassionate, safe space, free of judgment that allows the individual their personal growth and supports their healing processes.
Lilia focuses on working with clients that have anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transition difficulties, relationship issues, satisfaction, meaning and purpose of life, trauma, grief, and loss. Lilia has experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has been trained as a trauma-informed therapist and in Dance and Movement Therapy. Lilia is also a Yoga instructor and practitioner, implementing some of her skills to provide relief from high levels of stress, anxiety, and emotional and psychological distress in individuals.
Lilia received her master’s degree in psychotherapy from ITESO and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Matatipac in Mexico. She has experience in non-profit organizations, and in private practice working with the Latino community in Chicago. She has a diverse range of prior professional experiences including addictions, community centers, and school counseling with youth.
Her own experience as an immigrant to the US has supported her to develop a deeper understanding of the problems involved with life transitions, adaptation problems, identity concerns, distress, self-esteem, and trauma. She loves working with people of all ages, but she’s particularly passionate about working with women.
