Payton Chalmers is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in treating eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationship challenges. She is trained in DBT, ACT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Family Based Therapy.
In her work with clients Payton uses a person centered and insight-oriented approach to therapy, helping clients understand their past experiences and relationships, and the influence they have in the present. She prioritizes cultivating a safe and relaxed environment by utilizing empathy, compassion, humor, and genuine connection. She collaborates with her clients on their healing journey to bring about the results they are seeking.
Payton received her master's in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Practice from Roosevelt University. She has experience in community mental health, partial hospitalization programs, residential programs, and intensive outpatient programs.
