Amy Goldbeck, LPC, R-DMT, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Dance/movement Therapist. She has a warm and gentle personality and enjoys bringing out the creative and intuitive sides of her clients. Taking time to build trust and get to know a client, Amy has a reflective style that gradually becomes supportively challenging in nature. Amy’s orientation is eclectic, drawing upon developmental and holistic theories as well as Humanistic/Jungian frameworks. Amy has a sound intuition, which allows her to tailor her sessions to the needs and goals of each client.
Amy is a strong believer in the mind-body-spirit connection. She assists in the journey of her clients by strengthening the awareness of various parts of the Self. She helps clients to recognize the body as a resource for healing and works to develop self-love and acceptance. Amy also has a strong interest in the role of spirituality in one’s personal growth. She is adept at guiding clients through visualizations, healing meditations, and regression experiences for further understanding and insight. Amy has recently trained with the renowned Dr. Brian Weiss in Past Life Regression Therapy, and can use this tool to help clients tap into their Higher Wisdom.
Receiving a MA from Columbia College Chicago in Dance/movement Therapy in 2004, Amy has worked in many settings including psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities for troubled youth, half-way houses for disabled adults, and recovery centers for those struggling with addiction. She has also applied her creative skills with pregnant women, children, local parishioners, and the elderly. In addition, she conducted research on the non-verbal attachment patterns and unique issues between identical twins. Amy finds that her experience as a mother enables her grow as a therapist, and that all interactions are opportunities from which to learn.
